Free website readiness audit

Enter one page and see what it delivers: 24 technical checks in four areas, each reported on its own, with what it does not prove. The result appears on this page. No email and no overall score.

What it checks

Four areas, 24 checks, plus a few measured values

Every check either passes, fails or could not be measured. A check that could not be measured is never shown as passed.

Delivery

Did the page arrive, and did it arrive securely?

  • Does the page answer with a status code in the 2xx range?
  • Is the page delivered over HTTPS?

Indexability

May a search engine read and index the page?

  • Does robots.txt block the whole website?
  • Does the page's robots meta tag or X-Robots-Tag header say noindex?
  • Does a canonical tag point away from the page?
  • Do the page's robots directives block text snippets in Google's search results?
  • Does robots.txt shut OpenAI's search crawler OAI-SearchBot out of the whole website?
  • Does robots.txt shut Microsoft's search crawler Bingbot out of the whole website?

Content

Is what it takes to understand the page there?

  • Does the page have a title?
  • Does the page's HTML have an H1 heading?
  • Does the page have a meta description?
  • Is there structured data of the type Organization or LocalBusiness?
  • Does every question in the page's FAQ markup appear word for word in the page's text?
  • Does the markup of the business in the page's JSON-LD state ratings or reviews about the business itself?

Technical hygiene

What does the page expose to visitors and third parties?

  • Is the certificate valid, and does it match the host name?
  • Is there a viewport meta tag in the page's HTML?
  • Is Lighthouse Performance in a mobile lab test at least 50?
  • Are any subresources referenced over http on the https page?
  • Is there a Content-Security-Policy?
  • Is the Strict-Transport-Security header set?
  • Do third-party references in the HTML have an integrity attribute?
  • Is X-Content-Type-Options set to nosniff?
  • Is the Referrer-Policy header set?
  • Does Lighthouse fail the page on text alternatives, labels, names or the language attribute in a mobile lab test?

What it does not do

It measures readiness, not rankings

The audit looks at whether a page can be delivered, read and understood. It does not look up where you rank in Google, it does not ask any AI assistant about you, and it does not measure traffic. It checks one page at one moment.

There is no overall score. A score would have to weigh a missing security header against a page that search engines are told not to index, and no honest formula does that. Each check is reported with its severity and with a sentence on what it does not prove.

How it works

What happens when you press the button

  1. Our server fetches the page and its robots.txt, reads the response headers and the certificate, and parses the HTML. The request identifies itself as SnabbaPucksBot, the crawler of Snabba Pucks AB, the company behind NorthPosition.
  2. The address is sent to Google PageSpeed Insights for one simulated mobile lab test.
  3. The result is shown to you and then discarded. We do not save results or the addresses people check. To enforce the limits below, the server holds one-way codes of your IP address and of the website's host name in memory for a short time. See the privacy policy.

Limits: a few audits per visitor and per website within a short period, and only standard web ports (80 and 443), so that the tool cannot be used to load someone else's website.

After the audit

When you want a person to look at the whole site

The free audit covers technical basics on one page. It cannot tell you which pages are missing, which searches your clients make in which language, or what to fix first for your business. That is what the fixed-price SEO audit does: eight areas by hand, one priority chosen and one improvement carried out.
